It Started With a
Messy Kitchen
Our mom is a crafter. A junk journaler. A creator. And one of her favorite things to work with is coffee-dyed paper. Those beautiful, vintage-looking sheets that look like they came from an old library.
One night, she was in the kitchen making a batch. Paper everywhere. Coffee dripping. Counter space gone.
That's when dad walked in and asked a simple question:
"Can't you just buy some?"
Turns out, you can't. Coffee-dyed paper isn't something you can pick up at Michaels or order on Amazon. If you want it, you have to make it yourself. Sheet by sheet, in your kitchen, hoping it turns out right. It's messy, it's slow, and it takes up your whole evening.
For most people, that's just how it is. But for our dad, that was an opportunity.
From Kitchen Experiment to Real Business
With a little research, a lot of failed experiments, and five kids who were happy to get their hands dirty, we started figuring out a better way. We tested different techniques. Some were disasters. Some were discoveries. Through every failure and every success, the whole family was there. Drying paper, mixing colors, trying new combinations.
Eventually, we cracked it. A simple, at-home dyeing process that's faster, scalable, and produces beautiful results in bulk.
Meet JJ, Our 15-Year-Old CEO
Hi, I'm JJ! I'm 15 years old and I run Coffee Dyed Paper.
I was there from day one, helping my dad figure out this process, testing what works, and learning that failure is just part of building something real. Now I run the entire production process myself, from dyeing to drying to packing your order.
Every sheet that leaves our home was made by hand, with care, by a homeschooled kid who believes that beautiful things should be accessible to everyone. Not just the people with time to DIY them.
I'm building this business with my family's support, and I'm so excited to put our paper into the hands of crafters everywhere. My dream? To see Coffee Dyed Paper on the shelves of every craft store in America.
